Ernie was born in Greenwich, London in 1946. After leaving school he worked as a graphic designer and studio manager for various companies in London, Bournmouth and in the Pyrenees, France. In 1991 he moved to Dartmoor, Devon and with growing success committed himself to painting full-time. He is completely self-taught. Landscape and seascape paintings by Ernie in pastel, watercolours and mixed media can be found in various galleries and in private collections throughout the UK, France, USA and Australia. Commissions are accepted. He now runs pastel, watercolour and mixed media workshops and demonstrates to art groups around the country. He lives with his wife, Lyn, in Oak Tree Cottage, in the picturesque village of North Bovey. He has recently opened a gallery in his home - Gallery.On.The.Green - and visitors are welcome. |
