Arnold Lowrey
Arnold Lowrey has been painting for over
35 years, in watercolours, oils, acrylics and soft pastels.
He has
regular exhibitions of his paintings in the South Wales area and has had work
accepted and exhibited in the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour
exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
In 2000, he won the Portrait
Prize in the annual exhibition of the South Wales Art Society at Turner House,
Penarth. The previous year, he won overall First Prize together with best
acrylic, best portrait and best still life.
In addition he was chosen as
the public's choice in both the 1999 and 2000 Christmas Art Exhibitions at St
David's Hall, Cardiff, which is part of Cardiff County Council
He is a
painting demonstrator for major art material suppliers e.g. Winsor & Newton
and regularly provides painting demonstrations to Art Societies throughout South
Wales and Southern England.
He now runs weekly painting courses and
specialised weekends in the Cardiff area and residential courses in Wiltshire,
and has run a number of courses in Portugal.
Residential courses are held
at Urchfont Manor, near Devizes, Wiltshire and The Hill Conference centre,
Abergavenny, Gwent
